Dash Of The Titans To Hit Belfast
Ancient Greek mythology depicts the Titans as a race of powerful gods who ruled during the legendary Golden Age.
As Belfast enters into its own Golden Age, the city is hosting the colossal Dash of the Titans challenge.
Organisers said only the brave of heart need apply to "the ultimate test of brains and brawn", which will take place in the Titanic Quarter, on August 11.
The 10k mixed-terrain urban running event will push competitors to battle their way through challenges such as tyre running, climbing haystacks and water trenches.
The event is open to both individuals and teams and is geared towards top athletes or those who just want to have a laugh.
In association with Thirst-for.co.uk, the event is sure to be great banter and a fun way to raise vital funds for NI Cancer Fund for Children, which offers practical and emotional support to children and young people with cancer and their families.
NICFC fundraiser, Amanda Steele, challenged people across the province to "unleash their inner daredevil" and sign up to the event.
She said: "Dash of the Titans is a first of its kind concept in Northern Ireland and NICFC is delighted to be the official charity partner for this unique event. We are calling on all you daredevils out there who are tired of the usual marathons or 10Ks and fancy a real challenge to put your money where your mouth is and sign up now."
Individual and team registration (maximum of six per team) is £35 per person and each participant is asked to raise a target sponsorship of £50.
To sign up for Dash of the Titans, contact Amanda at NICFC on 028 9080 5599 or email amanda@nicfc.com.
