Food Safety Promotion Board advisors appointed

Five new appointments to the Food Safety Promotion Board's advisory committee have been announced.

The new members include representatives from the scientific community, health professionals and food industry north and south.

Commenting on the appointments, Martin Higgins said that the organisation wished to thank the outgoing committee members for their efforts over the last three years, while welcoming their replacements.

"We are delighted to welcome these new faces to our advisory committee. Their predecessors and the incumbent committee members have worked closely with us on a wide range of issues over the past three years. We look forward to utilising the breadth of experience being brought on board by the new members over the coming months.

"The range of backgrounds represented on our advisory committee highlights the importance of food safety issues right across our economic and health sectors, north and south."

The new members are Professor Charlie Daly; Catherine Murphy; Patrick McColgan; Odran Flynn; and Patrick Fottrell.
