Prometric Exceeding Job Creation Plans

Senator Mary Moran has today commended Prometric for its continued success in exceeding its jobs plan for 2012 at the official opening ceremony of the company in the Finnabair Business and Technology Park in Dundalk.

"Prometric announced in November 2011 that they would provide 100 jobs over 3 years in the field of technology-enabled testing and assessment. In just 6 months they have exceeded their jobs plan for all of 2012 with a workforce of 52 employed here in Dundalk, set to expand to 150 by 2014. I was especially delighted to see many local workers employed in Prometric.

"The CEO and President of Prometric, Michael Brannick has stated that the company was able to find the right skills and talent in the Dundalk area, thus benefiting their growth strategy for the integration of a European centre with their successful operations in Asia and North America. He commended the Government and the IDA for their role in cultivating jobs growth in the North-East.

"The location of Dundalk with easy access to airports, road and rail transport, along with the skills base available from the Dundalk Institute of Technology, has acted as a magnet for new investment. Added to the 1000 jobs about to come on-stream from PayPal, this good news from Prometric is another indication of how Government policy is achieving success in getting Ireland back to work."
