Foster Congratulates Pollock Lifts On Export Success
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has congratulated Carrickfergus firm Pollock Lifts on achieving export success through innovation.
Pollock Lifts specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of through-floor and step lifts for the physically handicapped and elderly market. The company employs 88 staff.
With support from Invest Northern Ireland, the business has invested significantly in product development and focused on driving efficiencies within its operations in recent years. As a result of these activities, Pollock Lifts has secured orders in new export markets including France, Italy, Israel, Singapore and Australia.
Congratulating the company during a visit to its premises, Arlene Foster said: "Pollock Lifts has been impacted by the economic downturn but has worked hard to identify new opportunities and develop its range to meet the demands of the market. Securing orders for new products developed with research and development support from Invest Northern Ireland is a mark of this firm’s progressive attitude and entrepreneurial focus.
"With an ageing population and evolving government legislation, the market place for Pollock Lifts' products is growing. This firm is well positioned to benefit from rising global opportunities and I look forward to hearing of its continued success."
