Lorry With A Difference Goes On The Road
A lorry with a difference has raised thousands of pounds for children with cancer.
The 14-tonne Lorry for Life was plastered with advertising from 13 brands, won in exchange for donations.
Todd Insurance Brokers won premium visibility on the delivery lorry, by winning a sealed bid against other companies.
The money raised in the advertising auction, which was the brainchild of bakery company Sunblest, reached £20,000.
That cash will go to the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children (NICFC) to pay for practical, financial and emotional support to young people and children living with cancer.
Elva O'Connor of Sunblest said: "Thanks to help from our friends, we have been able to help this local charity continue to support young people affected by cancer. Now we’re looking forward to seeing the Lorry for Life on the road!"
Gillian Creevy, Chief Executive of NICFC said: “Every week in Northern Ireland another three children, teenagers or young adults are diagnosed with cancer. For these young people and their families life will change dramatically. As a local children's charity we receive less than 1% Government Funding and rely on the generosity of our friends. Every penny counts and we thank our friends for teaming up with us on this unique opportunity."
