Teenager's Body Found In Flooded Quarry
The body of a teenager has been recovered at a disused and flooded quarry in Strabane.
It comes after a full search involving police, the fire service and volunteer divers.
It is believed Rhys Jack, 17, was on a makeshift raft at the site on Strahan's Road in the Backtown area at about 6.30pm yesterday when he fell in.
The other three teenagers who were with him also fell in but were rescued.
As the word spread, about 150 young people gathered at the scene.
Rhys has been described as a "popular" young man with a "large group of friends".
Speaking this afternoon before the body was found, the teenager's uncle Darren McGarrigle described him as a "loveable rogue".
Parish priest Father Michael Doherty said he spent yesterday evening at the quarry with Rhys’s family.
He said it was a "long night" for them.
Father Doherty added: "Years ago the quarry was a popular place for young people to go swimming. The place is locked up now and has warning signs up all around."

Planning Approval For 23.8ha Quarry Extension
Planning approval has been granted for a 23.8 hectare extension to Demesne Quarry in Glenarm. The development, led by OMYA UK Ltd, is for a sideways extension of Demesne Quarry southwards into Tully Field. It will also restore Parishagh Quarry for agricultural uses to the original ground level.

Quarry Teenager's Two Uncles Also Drowned
The Strabane teenager whose body was pulled from a water-filled quarry yesterday was the third member of his family to die by drowning. Two uncles of 17-year-old Rhys Jack both died in drowning incidents that mirror the Holy Cross pupil’s death.

Police divers recover man's body in quarry
A man’s body has been found in a flooded County Antrim quarry. Police officers from the underwater search team have recovered the body from a quarry at Ballyeaston near Ballyclare. The man, who is believed to have been in his 50s, was last seen near the quarry edge. Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

The Agency-backed programme, which is delivered under Jobskills by Blackwater House, culminated in the presentation of 43 awards to people from all over the province.
