Suspect Device Declared A Hoax
A security alert in west Belfast, which forced families to be evacuated from their homes, has been declared a hoax by army disposal officers.
People who lived in Hawthorn Street and Cavendish Street were forced out of their homes in the early hours of this morning.
SDLP Lower Falls Cllr Colin Keenan also had to leave his home in Hawthorn Street.
He said: "This type of activity is causing nothing but hurt and fear in our community and is utterly contemptible.
"I would like to thank those from St Paul’s Parish Centre who have gone out of their way to facilitate residents and all those who have played their role in making this awful experience more comfortable for people."
