Nicholson To Run For Europe
Jim Nicholson, UUP MEP, has confirmed he will stand again at the next European elections.
He made the announcement at the Balmoral Show today.
Mr Nicholson said: "With political deadlock and economic uncertainty it now appears that many of the current negotiations may now be pushed into the next parliamentary term. As such, it is essential Northern Ireland has continuity and experience on its side as this dialogue continues. This is a job I have been committed to doing from the outset of my time in Europe and throughout this time I have ensured that Northern Ireland has had a full time voice speaking up for its needs and fighting for its interests.
"This is a job I wish to continue doing as now, more than ever, Northern Ireland needs to have the best possible representation in the European Parliament."
