PROVINCE IS IDEAL LOCATION FOR EURO INVESTMENT
NORTHERN Ireland’s position as an ideal investment location in the software sector has been further enhanced by the decision of German company InVision Software AG to establish a facility in Derry, creating at least 30 jobs.
Leslie Ross, Chief Executive of the Industrial Development Board (IDB) made the joint announcement with the Chief Technical Officer of InVision Software, Peter Bollenbeck.
Commenting on the investment, Mr Bollenbeck said that a major attraction for the company when considering Northern Ireland was the availability of suitably qualified people to take up the jobs that they were creating.
He said: “As a young company ourselves, we feel excited at the prospect of working in partnership with the young talent that exists here in Derry, and indeed across Northern Ireland. We have worked closely over recent months with our friends here at the Magee Campus of the University of Ulster and are confident that there is a bright future ahead for us in Derry.”
Mr Ross added: “German-based InVision Software is a young, vibrant company which has quickly established itself as one of the world’s leading suppliers of needs-orientated workforce management solutions, particularly aimed at the call centre and service sectors”.
Established in 1995, InVision Software has already secured a 25 per cent share in the German call market, a development which Mr Ross described as auguring well for the future of their Northern Irish initiative. (CL)
