Man Charged With Pensioner's Murder
A 42-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a pensioner eleven years ago.
Coleraine man Norman Moffatt, 73, was walking home after buying a paper in a local shop on Railway Road, Coleraine, on 26 January 2001 when he was stabbed.
He died two months later in hospital on 19 March.
James Alexander McCook, with an address at Stonemill Terrace, Stockport, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates' Court today charged with the murder.
Yesterday Police, who have been investigating the murder of the Northern Irish pensioner, revealed they had arrested a man, in England, in connection with the crime.
Mr McCook was arrested in Stockport on Monday by detectives from the PSNI, working with officers from Greater Manchester Police.
Mr McCook is due to appear in court again on April 16.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. The victim, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition after being assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. The suspect is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Monday, 17 October.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
