BOMB ATTACKS BLAMED ON LOYALISTS
LOYALISTS have been blamed for bomb attacks on houses in Belfast over the weekend.
In the first attack, a man and woman and her children aged four and five escaped injury when a blast bomb was thrown at their home in north Belfast.
The device exploded at the front of the house on the Deerpark Road just after midnight on Saturday 30 June. The device broke windows at the front of the house and caused scorch damage. It is thought the attack was directed at the catholic father-of-two. The man, who was not in the house at the time of the attack, had received a loyalist death threat six weeks ago. The man’s partner and her cousin and two children escaped injury but were treated for shock.
Meanwhile, in the Peter’s Hill area close to the Shankill Road, a 60-year-old woman and her son have moved out of their house in Brown Street after a pipe bomb exploded in the back yard. The strength of the blast broke several windows in the area.
A house three doors away was targeted earlier this week, and two other families living in the same terrace have left the area following the attack. (AMcE)

Families escape injury in pipe bomb attacks
A woman and her son have escaped injury in a pipe bomb attack on their home at Ballynahinch in County Down. The device exploded at the front door of the house in Windmill Avenue around 2am on Friday April 26. The door was damaged and windows in the house and a neighbouring house were shattered.

Pipe bomb attacks continue in Country Antrim
County Antrim has been the focus of several overnight incidents involving pipe bombs, which saw one Portrush man narrowly escape injury when his house was singled out for attack. The device was thrown through the window of the house in Glenmanus Park at around midnight on Monday 23 July, but failed to go off.

Houses damaged in separate petrol bomb attacks
Two houses have been attacked in separate petrol bomb attacks in Belfast and Downpatrick. In north Belfast, a device was thrown through a glass pane in the front door of a house on the Crumlin Road at around 11pm last night. In Downpatrick, a house in the Mount Crescent area suffered scorch damage in the early hours of Friday morning.

Church buildings damaged in attacks
Two church buildings have been damaged in separate overnight attacks. In the first attack windows were smashed at the home of a Church of Ireland Rector in Glenavy, County Antrim around midnight last night. A gang of youths throwing stones and other missiles attacked the church rectory and broke the windscreen of a car that was sitting outside.

A number of people have escaped injury after a series of gun and pipe bomb attacks on their homes in County Antrim. A ten-year-old boy escaped in jury after shots were fired into a house at Mounthill Drive in Cloughmills, County Antrim.
