Cargo Ship Captain Released On Bail
The captain who crashed his cargo ship into a passenger ferry whilst under the influence of alcohol has been released on bail.
Miroslaw Pozniak, 55, was at the helm of a cargo ship which was in collision with a passenger ferry in Belfast Lough on 7 March.
Earlier this month Pozniak was charged with excess alcohol by the master of a ship at a court in Bangor. He pleaded guilty to the charge.
The captain has now been released on £500 bail to an address in Whiteabbey. He has to surrender his passport and seaman's card; he must also report to police three times a week.
He is to appear again on 24 April at Downpatrick Crown Court. Meanwhile, he is due before a court on 3 April as the Maritime and Coastguard Agency are pursuing a parallel prosecution.

Woman Charged With Murder Of Toddler
A 27-year-old woman arrested over the death of a three-year-old boy in Lisburn has been charged with his murder. Brendan Owens was found dead on 4 July at a property in Trinity Terrace, Lisburn. A post-mortem examination was carried out on the infant at the time, but it is understood the results were inconclusive.

Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Man Stabbed In Co Down
A 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Co Down. The 54-year-old victim was stabbed in the Manor Court area in Moira on Monday. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital. The woman is to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Priest faces two indecent assault charges
An Armagh priest has appeared in court today charged with two charges of indecent assault. The charges against Father Michael Gerard McQuillian, 42, relate to incidents between March and October 1990. McQuillian released on police bail, pending a further hearing on 8 July.
