Armed Forces Offer 750 Jobs In NI

The Armed Forces are set to recruit hundreds of people from Northern Ireland over the next 12 months, it has been revealed.

The Army, the Royal Navy and Royal Airforce will advertise 750 jobs in the next year.

It is understood that the majority of the jobs- around 300 part-time and 300 full-time positions with be with the Army- while the remainder will be with the Royal Navy and the Royal Airforce.

The jobs will cover a wide range of trades but it is thought that engineers, medics and logistical personnel will be particularly in demand.

A careers exhibition is set to take place at Kinnegar Barracks in Holywood on 17 and 18 March.

Around 300 Jobs At Risk Following WiggleCRC Merger
Around 300 jobs are at risk in Northern Ireland after Wiggle took over Chain Reaction Cycles earlier this year. The firm said it intends to carry out the majority of its operations from its warehouse in Wolverhampton. The company employs 152 staff and a further 161 agency staff at its warehouses in Doagh, Carrickfergus and Ballyclare.

Deloitte To Create Additional 300 Jobs
A professional services firm has announced it is to create an additional 300 jobs in Northern Ireland. Deloitte said it aims to recruit 1,000 people in Belfast by 2020. The firm currently has 460 workers in NI and over 40 apprentices are expected to start in September this year.
