Princess Royal Visits NI

The Princess Royal has touched down in Northern Ireland for a series of engagements.

Princess Anne has started off in Belfast where she will begin her visit at the Pony Club's national conference at the Waterfront Hall. She has been the Royal patron of the Club since 2009.

The Princess was greeted by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast, Sir Nigel Hamilton, and later addressed 350 delegates inside the hall.

It is understood that the Princess Royal will move on to other engagements later this afternoon.

Busy Day For Princess Anne
The Princess Royal has now left Northern Ireland after a series of engagements. During a one-day visit on Wednesday, Princess Anne was at W5 in Belfast's Odyssey complex where she was guest of honour at an event to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Women into Science and Engineering Campaign.

Princess Royal Opens Prison Service Memorial Garden
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal has officially opened the Northern Ireland Prison Service Memorial Garden. The Memorial Garden, at Hydebank Wood, is a tribute to the work of the Northern Ireland Prison Service and in particular, marks the service and sacrifice of prison staff who lost their lives through acts of terrorist violence.

College World Skills Winners Meet Princess Royal
Up-and-coming tradesmen received a royal accolade recently when, in the final engagement of a one-day visit, the Princess Royal attended the official opening of Belfast Metropolitan College, at the Titanic Quarter, Belfast.
