DUPONT WINS SAFETY AWARD FOR MAYDOWN SITE
THE Maydown, Northern Ireland, site of DuPont UK has received a major new award for industrial safety.
The Platinum Site Safety Award, sponsored by environmental consultant Marsh, was awarded by the UK Chemical Industries Association (CIA) at a Gala Awards Dinner at the Hilton Hotel in London on Wednesday.
The Award was accepted by the Managing Director of DuPont (UK), John Anderson, in recognition of the site’s outstanding safety performance in having the longest continuous accident-free period recorded by any UK chemical company.
Commenting on the award, CIA Executive Director - Responsible Care, Paul Reeve said:
“DuPont (UK) is to be congratulated on its performance in meeting the extremely stringent target that is set for all CIA member companies. To win this award companies must have safety policies and management systems that work for every day of every year, and DuPont has demonstrated that the highest standards can be set and achieved.” (MB)

Local Firms Celebrate Award Winning Innovation
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has joined around 60 local food and drink companies, mostly artisan businesses, to celebrate award winning innovation. The Minister presented Golden Forks to three companies which gained major awards in this year’s Great Taste competition, organised by the UK Guild of Fine Food, at a special event in Cultra.
