VIRIDIAN CAPITAL MD RESIGNS
THE managing director of Viridian's non-power division Viridian Capital, Nigel Wilson, has resigned from the company to return to England and take up a new appointment.
Mr Wilson said he was leaving the Northern Ireland energy group to become finance director at FTSE-listed United Business Media.
The managing directors of the Viridian Capital companies, of which Wilson spearheaded, will now report directly to the group chief executive. It has been speculated that these companies, IT outsourcing group Sx3, financial services group Open + Direct, and telecoms and Internet group Nevada tele.com, could be floated separately from the parent company.
Group chief executive Patrick Haren said Mr Wilson’s energy drive and success in his five years with the company played a very important role in building up new business and achieving their objectives.
Viridian added that Mr Haren would join Patrick Bourke, group finance director, on the board of Nevada tele.com - Viridian's joint venture with Energis.
Wilson also resigned from Viridian's board but will remain with the group until the end of July. (AMcE)
