Hilti Fastening Systems Is Best Small Workplace In Ireland

Hilti Fastening Systems has been listed as number one in the Best Medium Sized workplaces in Ireland and Grünenthal Pharma Ltd is also number three on the list.

The Great Place to Work organisation’s list, which is widely recognised as Ireland’s most comprehensive study of workplace culture, highlights organisations that create and maintain an environment of trust in the workplace.

Google Ireland, PepsiCo, EMC Information Systems and McDonald’s Restaurants of Ireland rounded out the top five in the large organisation category. Estate agents Jones Lang LaSalle won the Best Medium Sized Company award and HILTI, the construction technology company, won the first ever Best Small Workplace award. Presenting the awards, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said: "A key part of our enterprise and jobs recovery will be ensuring that our businesses become exemplars of best practice in everything they do, including the way they treat their staff. Today I am delighted to present these awards in recognition of companies and leaders who place the quality of their workplace at the centre of their success. We will continue to support businesses who strive for excellence, not only in the quality of their products, but also in the quality of their workplaces."

Over half the organisations in the Best Large Company category in this year's results maintained their presence in the top ten including Microsoft’s in pole position, PepsiCo who improved their ranking from 4th place in 2011 to 3rd, McDonald's who maintained 5th place for a third year in a row and Telefonica Ireland who stayed at 6th place for the second year in a row. Organisations who will be pleased with making it into this year’s top ten include; Google (2nd), Dell Ireland (7th) and Kellogg (10th).

Of the 45 organisations who achieved the best workplace standard in 2012, 12 were Irish companies. They include Bord Gáis, Version 1, Topaz, Ergo, Barry Group, Cluid Housing, Adrian Dunne Pharmacies, Tourism Ireland, Merlin, FCm, Vayu and Core Media.
