Body Recovered From River Lagan

The body of Joby Murphy, 20, has been recovered from the River Lagan in Belfast.

Mr Murphy fell from the footbridge at the Lagan Weir on 26 January after a night out at the Odyssey Arena.

On Saturday morning police divers retrieved the body.

Family members have been holding regular vigils at the site.

They have also called for an end to cheap drink promotions in the city.

Body Recovered From River Lagan
Police are investigating after a woman's body was discovered in the River Lagan. The body was found in the Shaw's Bridge area on Monday afternoon, 16 September. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

New 'Save Energy, Save Money' Campaign Launched
A new 'Save Energy, Save Money' information campaign which aims to lower energy bills through energy efficiency, has been launched by Economy Minister Conor Murphy. Funded by the Department for the Economy and delivered by the Consumer Council, the campaign will run until March 2025.
