Republicans Admit To Child Killing
Republicans have admitted full responsibility for the death of a schoolboy who was killed when he triggered a bomb left in his garden.
The father of nine-year-old Gordon Gallagher has said that he is glad Republicans admitted full responsibility.
This week Gordon’s parents had called on Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, to get to the truth about what happened the day their son was killed.
At the time, the IRA admitted to the family that a device had been left in the garden. However, it claimed the detonator was added by soldiers. Mr Gallagher said that he was glad Republicans had finally accepted that they, not the Army, were to blame.
McGuinness, through his own admission was second in command of the IRA at the time of the schoolboy’s death. For this reason the family believed that he would know who was involved and were appealing to him for information.

Dissident republicans thought to be behind killing
Dissident republicans are believed to have been behind the killing of a west Belfast man on Sunday. Daniel McGurk, 35, was shot several times after answering the front door of his Ross Road home in the lower Falls area at around 11am yesterday. It is not known how many gunmen were behind the attack, which police described as "cold-blooded murder".
