Anna Lo Avoids Car-Jack Attempt
The South Belfast Alliance Party MLA Anna Lo has revealed she was the victim of a failed car-jacking attempt on Friday.
The MLA was threatened at knife point on Lawrence Street at 12.45pm. Ms Lo said she and the attacker , who was between 11 and 14, had a short stand-off before the attacker ran off without taking the car. Ms Lo was not injured.
Ms Lo told the BBC: "I think he recognised me and ran away. I had left a bag and my handbag behind the driver's seat and as I straightened up out of the car, he was behind me."
The Alliance MLA said the youth demanded her keys, but when she refused to hand them over there was a he ran off through a nearby alleyway.

Councils Spend £26m Cleaning Up Litter
Alliance Environment spokesperson Anna Lo MLA has said that the £26 million that was spent by Councils last year cleaning up litter shows why we must tackle this problem. Anna Lo MLA said: "I think people will be shocked that such a large sum of money was spent cleaning up litter last year.

Security Alert In South Belfast Ends
A security alert near a primary school in south Belfast has ended. Pupils from Belvoir Park Primary School did not return to the premises after it was evacuated, however the roads have been re-opened in the area. Army bomb experts carried out tests on objects found at a bus stop on Belvoir Drive.

Band Backs Down On City Parade
A contentious protest parade that was expected to disrupt the city centre this weekend will not now be taking place. The loyalist band has called off the march it had planned to hold in Belfast on Saturday. Last week, the Parades Commission banned the Pride of Raven from marching along Donegall Pass after complaints from South Belfast MLA Anna Lo.
