ULSTER RUGBY TEAM FINALISED

ULSTER coach Alan Solomons announced four new signings on Monday July

16 to complete their 30-player panel for the forthcoming season.

The four fresh faces are Robbie Brink, Adam Larkin, David Allen and Matt Sexton.

Robbie Brink, who is 30 next week, was a member of South Africa's 1995 World Cup squad and has seven caps. The blindside forward, who joins the Ulster squad has just recovered from knee surgery.

The ex- hooker Matt Sexton also joins the squad. He has vast experience of Super 12 rugby having lifted the Super 12 title twice with the Canterbury Crusaders.

David Allen is a 21-year-old openside flanker from Sydney side Estes. Allen holds an Irish passport, as does utility back Adam Larkin who used to play for North Harbour, Bristol and Castres.

The Ulster squad will leave for Scotland on Sunday for a five-day training camp. They begin their pre-season warm-up games by playing Coventry on 5 August, followed by Sale on 11 August.

The finalised Ulster squad is - Backs: B. Free, K. Campbell, D. Humphreys, P. Wallace, T. Howe, J. Topping, J. Cunningham, S. Coulter, J. Bell, R. Constable, S. Stewart, A. Larkin, B. Cunningham, N. Malone, S. Young.

Four internationals missing from Ulster squad
Ulster coach Mark McCall will be without his Irish international contingent ahead of this Friday's pre-season friendly against Rotherham. David Humphreys, Kevin Maggs, Tyrone Howe and Simon Best miss Friday's game, as well the first month of the Celtic League campaign, because of their Ireland commitments.

Three Ulster Rugby Players Named In British & Irish Lions Squad
Three Ulster Rugby players have been named in the British & Irish Lions squad. Rory Best, Iain Henderson and Jared Payne have been included in the squad who are to tour New Zealand this summer. The trio are among 11 Ireland players selected by Lions Head Coach Warren Gatland.

Object Sparks Fermanagh Security Alert
A security alert has been sparked by the discovery of a suspicious object in the village of Blaney, County Fermanagh. The object was found in the Innishbegg Cottages area this afternoon. Police and army bomb squad officers have attended the scene.

Woman Arrested After Gun Is Found In West Belfast
A woman has been arrested after a suspected gun, ammunition and other items were found in west Belfast. Police were alerted to the property in Magnolia Park in Twin Brook on Sunday. Officers from the army bomb squad removed the items for forensic testing. The woman has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Bomb Alert Sparks Westlink Chaos
There was traffic chaos in Belfast yesterday evening as a security alert sparked by the discovery of two suspicious devices in south Belfast closed the city's main carriageway for most of the afternoon.
