County Down Building Firm Scoops £19m Contract
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has congratulated County Down construction firm Graham on winning a £19million contract to design and build a new port facility in England.
The contract is for a roll-on/roll-off terminal used for the import and export of cars and will involve building two jetties, a floating pontoon and a bridge at the Port of Grimsby. Work is due to start later this month and is scheduled for completion in March 2013
Ms Foster said: "It is encouraging to see companies in the construction sector such as John Graham Dromore Ltd striving ahead by looking for opportunities and doing business outside Northern Ireland.
"Recent projects completed by the firm include the Peace Bridge in Londonderry, and Graham’s expertise in marine engineering has undoubtedly helped the company win this prestigious contract.
"Invest Northern Ireland has continuous involvement with Graham, having recently carried out a Business Health Check and is working closely with the Management Team, to assist them with the development of the company strategy."
