Sharon Wootton Admits Charge In Carroll Case

The mother of one of the two who are accused of murdering Constable Stephen Carroll, has pleaded guilty to her charges.

Sharon Wootton admitted that on a date between March 8 - 11 2009 that she obstructed police.

It is understood that her charges relate to her removing computer equipment from her Lurgan home to another address.

Wootton's 20-year-old son John Paul Wootton from Collindale, Lurgan, and former Sinn Fein councillor Brendan McConville, 40, of Glenholme Avenue, Craigavon both deny murdering Constable Carroll on March 9 2009.

More Details Revealed In Constable Carroll Case
More details have been released about the murder weapon used to kill Constable Stephen Carroll three years ago. Forensic scientists who examined the remains of the bullets found in Constable Carroll’s car have said that they were of Yugoslavian origin, had been manufactured in 1982 and were fired from the same gun.

Sabotage Claim In Constable Carroll Murder Appeal
The High Court in Belfast has heard a claim the the PSNI attempted to sabotage the appeal of two men convicted of murdering Constable Stephen Carroll. Brendan McConvill and John Paul Wooton are appealing against their convictions, after they were found guilty last year of the murder.

Constable Carroll Murder Trial Continues
The trial of a former Sinn Fein counselor and a mother and son charged with crimes connecting to the murder of Constable Stephen Carroll continues. Today the court heard of the attempts to save the life of the PSNI officer that was killed as part of a set-up in what is described as a stronghold republican area.

Accused Constable Carroll Killers Bugged
It has been revealed that undercover soldiers secretly bugged the car of one of the men accused of murdering Constable Stephen Carroll in 2009 with a tracking device. The terrorists' plan was to kill any policeman in Craigavon after smashing a window in a private house, knowing that the PSNI would respond.

Policeman Killer's 14-Year Sentence Will Be Reviewed
The 14-year sentence given to a man who murdered a PSNI officer will be reviewed by the Court of Appeal. The move came after the chairman of the justice committee, Paul Givan, argued that the sentence given to John Paul Wootton did not reflect the gravity of the crime and would not deter others.
