Spread The Love This Valentine's Day

This Valentine’s Day Bóthar Northern Ireland are asking local people to spread the love a little further than their nearest and dearest by giving a gift of honeybees to families in the developing world.

When you buy a Bóthar NI Bee My Honey Valentine’s Day Card or donate to Bóthar NI this Valentine’s the money goes towards providing honeybees to families in Uganda, Tanzania and Cameroon, helping them to produce their own

medicinal honey and valuable wax. Both of these are valuable items that can be used to support the families and the local community.

Bóthar NI representative Aoibheann Fearon said: "Valentine's Day is traditionally an occasion when we think of others and show some love to those who mean most to us. We¹re hoping that Northern Irish people would think of spreading that love a little further this year and supporting some families in the developing world.

"It’s been a tough year for everyone but even the smallest of gifts can have a genuinely life changing impact for people in developing countries so I’d ask everyone to take a moment and consider making a donation this Valentine’s."

Bóthar NI provides a range of sustainable gifts to the developing world. Before they supply the family with their bees, they train them in how to look after them and in how to market the honey and the wax. The systems that they put in place ensure the bees or any gift animal continues to support the family and eventually the rest of the local community for many years to come.
