Worker Given £10K For Sectarian Abuse
A catholic worker has been awarded compensation of over £10K for sectarian harassment in the workplace.
The man employed by Shorts/ Bombardier has been awarded £11,500 after a workmate harassed him via text messages.
The judge said that the texts messages contained ‘chillingly frightening’ sectarian comments.
The victim claims that he has suffered mental health problems as a result of the abuse.
The Judge also said that the company’s hands off approach to the sectarian bullying did not alleviate them of liability.

Victim of sectarian abuse awarded almost £80,000
A Catholic bus driver who suffered sectarian abuse from two colleagues has been awarded almost £80,000 compensation for religious discrimination. Gerald Duffy, 42, from Ballymena, suffered five years of abuse. He had a Union flag waved in his face and was warned he would be burnt out of his home and would be shot if the Troubles resumed.

Alliance Slams Thugs Behind Sectarian Graffiti In Omagh
The Alliance Party has hit out at the thugs behind sectarian graffiti in Omagh mocking the Kingsmill massacre. The graffiti was daubed on a wall in the Great Northern Road area of the town and references the Kingsmill atrocity, in which 10 workmen were killed in South Armagh in 1976.

Man Arrested Over 1976 Murder Of Paul McNally
A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected 1976 sectarian murder in north Belfast. Paul McNally, 26, was shot as he left Sean Graham's bookmakers at the junction of Brompton Park and Crumlin Road on 5 June. He died two days later in hospital. Police believe it was a random sectarian attack.

Latest School Fire Probed
Vandals have again set fire to a school in north Belfast. The PSNI are investigating after the canteen at Stella Maris School on the Shore Road was attacked overnight. It was also found that paint had been thrown over the building when the blaze was discovered at 2am on Wednesday.
