Alcohol Can Increase Risk Of Cancer

New research has revealed that the risk of developing mouth cancer can increase depending on how much you drink.

Research has shown that the risk of developing mouth cancer triples from drinking two large glasses of wine or two strong pints of beer a day.

Following the release of these statistics health experts are reminding men that they should not have more than three or four units per day. They advise that women should not have more than two or three units.

The experts are also suggesting that people become aware of their drinking habits and attempt to have drink free days, to stop drinking before heading out on an already alcohol filled night and to use small glasses to help combat the problem.

The survey of over 2,000 drinkers in Britain also found 85% did not realise that drinking more than the recommended limits increased the risk of developing breast cancer.

About 65% did not know it increased the risk of bowel cancer, 63% were unaware of the raised risk of pancreatitis and 59% did not realise excess drinking increased the risk of mouth, throat and neck cancer.
