Halifax Staff Fear Job Losses
Staff at a Building society are facing their fears that 80 jobs could be taken away from Belfast if a restructuring programme goes ahead.
Halifax has revealed that a restructuring of its services could see 80 jobs in its Retail Mortgage and Private Banking section relocated.
Currently the positions are located at the Gasworks site in the city but staff have not yet been told where the re-located jobs will be based.
Halifax is part of the Lloyds Banking Group which, on Tuesday, announced it was shedding 1,000 jobs in the UK.

Talks Held As Ulster Bank Job Losses Feared
The Irish Bank Officials’ Association has confirmed that they will enter into talks with Ulster Bank amid fears of job losses. The association has met with management of Ulster Bank in Belfast, as they fear that job losses may be announced. Talking to BBC the bank said: "The bank does not comment on speculation.

Political representatives and Invest NI are told to hold a meeting with the management of Ageas Belfast today, Thursday, following the announcement of over 200 job losses. The firm plans to close its call centre at Springvale Business Parkm and a 90-day redundancy consultation period has began.
