SDLP COUNCILLOR’S HOUSE TARGETED AGAIN
PAINT bombers have targeted an SDLP councillor’s home for the second time in eight days.
Margaret Walsh, a nationalist councillor who lives in Barrack Street on the Lower Falls Road, had paint bombs thrown at the windows of her home on Wednesday night.
Mrs Walsh, her husband and four of their five children were sitting in the living room when the gang hurled various missiles at the house. Three men were seen nearby in a car moments before the attack, with two men thought to have perpetrated the attack before being driven away by a third person.
Mrs Walsh’s house was targeted on Tuesday 10 July in a similar paint bomb attack.
The SDLP councillor has said she believed loyalists were responsible for the attacks and vowed that she will not be driven out of her home.
Speaking to a Belfast newspaper on Thursday morning she said: “This is not going to achieve anything. I am not moving anywhere, I have lived in this area all my life. These thugs will not force me out of my home. There is no doubt loyalists did this and it appears they have been watching the house.”
She added: “We have just got over the attack last week and we had the paint removed – now it is all over the house and windows again.” (AMcE)

Former SDLP councillor's home paint bombed
The home of a former SDLP councillor has suffered damage in an attack in County Tyrone last night. Anne Bell, who is also a former member of the Strabane District Policing Partnership, had three paint bombs thrown at her house on Knockavoe Crescent on the Ballycolman Estate, at around 8pm.

Home of elderly couple targeted in paint attack
An elderly couple have been left traumatised following a sectarian attack on their home in north Belfast on Monday. The Protestant husband and wife, who are in their 80's, were in their house on the Hesketh Road, when a window was smashed and paint thrown inside an unoccupied room.

House targeted in sectarian paint bomb attack
Police believe a paint bomb attack on a Catholic home in Co Antrim on Monday was sectarian. Bottles filled with paint were thrown at the property in Tudor Vale, Ahoghill, at about 11.30pm, causing extensive damage to the front of the property. No one was injured in the attack which has been blamed on loyalists.

Police Officer Injured During Security Alert In L'Derry
A poliice officer has been injured during a security alert in L’Derry. A police vehicle was also damaged during the incident on the Aileach Road on Friday, 02 June. Petrol bombs, paint cans and pieces of masonry were thrown at officers as they responded to a security alert.

PSNI Confirms Flag Violence Arrests
The PSNI has confirmed a total of eight arrests were made as a result of disorder over the Belfast City Hall union flag issue. Three police officers were injured when missiles ranging from petrol bombs, paint bombs, fireworks and heavy masonry were thrown by loyalist protesters. PSNI vehicles were attacked with hatchets and sledge hammers.
