Ian Paisley Spends Second Night In Hospital
The former First Minister of Northern Ireland and DUP leader, Ian Paisley, has spent his second night in hospital according to reports.
Lord Bannside, who is 85, was taken ill on Sunday but the severity of his condition is not yet known.
He is being treated in the intensive care unit of the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald. It is believed he is being treated for a heart condition.
Family members, including Ian Paisley Jnr, spent the night at the hospital but have not revealed any more details about Lord Bannside’s condition.
Baroness Paisley released a statement on Monday confirming that her husband is being treated in the Ulster Hospital.
She requested that the family's privacy is respected at a difficult time.

NI Misses Cancer Treatment Targets
Northern Ireland's hospitals have failed to meet target times for the treatment of patients referred for suspected cancer, a new report by the Department of Health revealed. Its guidelines say 95% of patients should begin their treatment within 62 days. Last December however, the figure stood at 81%, which was the third monthly fall in a row.

Virus closes hospital beds across province
Hospitals in Northern Ireland are struggling to deal with the effects of a common virus which has left people waiting on trollies for beds and caused a severe backlog in surgery. The virus, which affects patients and staff, comes as hospitals throughout the province struggle to cope with an increased number of patients because of winter illnesses.
