Sixth Ulster derby in All-Ireland Quarter Finals
Derry will face Tyrone in the GAA Football Championship All-Ireland quarter-finals after beating Cavan in Sunday’s qualifying series match.
The pairing is set to become the sixth Ulster derby since the beginning of the series which, for the first time in a qualifying series, allows teams beaten in their provincial championships one more chance at the All Ireland title.
The two Ulster counties will meet at Clones on Sunday 5 August in a repeat of the Ulster semi-final clash which Tyrone won 3-7 to 0-14 in June. On the same day Meath play Westmeath at Croke Park.
The day before Galway will take on Roscommon at Castlebar, while All-Ireland Champions Kerry take on Dublin at Thurles.
Tyrone or Derry will face either Galway or Roscommon in the All-Ireland semi-finals. (MB)

GOLF AND GAELIC SUCCESS FOR ULSTER AT WEEKEND
ULSTER enjoyed a whirlwind of sporting success in the field of golf and Gaelic football over the weekend. Dungannon golfer Darren Clarke won the Smurfit European open in front of 28,000 Irish fans at the K-Club on Sunday, while Tyrone won the Ulster Football Championship for the first time in six years by beating Cavan at Clones.

'Nevin Spence Centre' Planned For Ravenhill
A new education and heritage centre being built at Ulster Rugby's Ravenhill stadium is to be named after the late Nevin Spence, who died in a farming accident along with his brother Graham and father Noel in September last year. The centre is part of a £14.7m redevelopment of the ground and will be called 'The Nevin Spence Centre'.

Better Cross-Border Relationship Sought
A new group, commissioned by the North South Ministerial Council, is aiming for an enhanced cross-border relationship for both parts of Ireland. Sean Oliver, the head of Sinn Fein's All-Ireland Department and Peter King, a former Ulster Unionist will be part of a four-member panel advising the group.
