Woman Saved From House Fire

A woman in her 50s has been rescued from a house fire in Newry.

Firefighters attended the blaze at a house on Mary Street in the County Down city at 7:15pm.

The woman, who was found in a downstairs room by fire crew, is being treated in hospital.

Eugene McNally, the station commander, said: "She was very quickly brought out and treated for the effects of smoke inhalation at the scene."

Fatal House Fire In Newtownards
A woman in her 30s has died in a fire at a house in Newtownards, Co. Down. The fire occurred at a house in Ilex Avenue at around 5.30pm and the woman is reported to have died at the scene. An investigation into the circumstances of the death is being conducted by police who have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Woman Jumps To Safety To Escape House Fire In Co Armagh
A woman is being treated for minor injuries in hospital after she jumped from the first floor of a property to escape a fire in Co Armagh. The blaze started at a house in the Navan Court area shortly before 8.20pm on Tuesday. Around 20 firefighters attended the scene and extinguished the fire. The woman is also being treated for smoke inhalation.

Dublin fire kills woman and injures four others
A 19-year-old woman has been killed and four others, including three children and one woman, have been injured in a house fire in Dublin. The blaze on Oranmore Road in Ballyfermot appears to have started at the back of the house and broke out at around midnight.
