Lady Lucy Faulkner Dies

Lady Lucy Faulkner, the widow of Northern Ireland's last prime minister, Brian Faulkner, has died. She was 87 years old. Lady Faulkner of Downpatrick was the first woman to serve as National Governor of the BBC in Northern Ireland.

Ofcom Rules ITV Misled Its Audience

Ofcom has ruled that ITV misled viewers by airing footage claimed to have been shot by the IRA, which was actually material taken from a video game.

A total of 26 people alerted the regulator, raising concerns over the footage broadcast in Exposure: Gaddafi and the IRA, in September.

ITV apologised after the issue came to light, saying it was "an unfortunate case of human error".

Controlled Explosions Carried Out

Two controlled explosions have been carried out in Ballykelly, Co Londonderry.

A security alert was sparked after a suspicious object was discovered in the Carnamuff Road area on Sunday evening.

The road, along with the Tiermacoy Road, remains closed as the alert continues.

UTV To Launch Irish Channel

ITV 'IRA Footage' Was Video Game
ITV have admitted that footage of a 1988 IRA attack, film which they claimed was real, was actually taken from a video game. The coverage was included in an ITV documentary which discussed Gaddafi and the IRA and how deposed Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi sent weapons to the IRA in the mid-1980s.
