MMK Express sign major contract with Open + Direct
Mallusk-based freight forwarders MMK Express have signed a major contract with one of the province’s largest fleet management companies, Open + Direct Fleet Solutions.
The deal means Open + Direct will supply MMK Express with four Iveco lorries – three 7.5 tonne trucks and one 12 tonne vehicle – on a five year contract hire basis, as well as providing servicing and a back-up emergency service.
Commenting on the decision to update their existing vehicles, Michael McDowell, Financial Controller of MMK Express, said: “Open + Direct provided a cost-effective solution to replace our existing fleet, on which we rely totally to keep our express delivery services on the road.”
Earlier this year, Open + Direct opened new purpose-built premises on a two-acre site on Airport Road West in Belfast, which the company described as being “the only one of its kind in the province”, providing service facilities for heavy goods vehicles as well as for cars and vans.
Created in 1999, Open + Direct is the technology-driven financial services business of Viridian Group plc, one of the top 250 listed companies in the UK.
