Northern Bank To Close Four Branches
Northern Bank has confirmed that it will close four branches in the coming months.
Earlier the bank had announced that it would close Northern Bank branches in Portrush and Portstewart: it has now said that it will also be closing branches in Donaghadee and Ballyholme.
It is understood that all four branches will be closed some time in March and a spokesperson for the branch has said that more closures are likely.
Northern Bank currently employs more than 1,200 people in Northern Ireland with a further 300 people employed in other services for the bank. When the four branches close the bank will have 76 branches remaining in Northern Ireland.

Ulster Bank Payments Delayed Further
A bank that has been plagued with technical difficulties over the past few days has said its payments system will not be fully up and running until Monday. Although Ulster Bank said the days-long backlog would be resolved today, many customers are still unable to access recent payments.

Northern Bank Becomes Danske
Today the Northern Bank officially becomes Danske Bank. The new name comes from the bank’s Danish parent and will see branches across Ireland, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania adopt the new title.

Ulster Bank To Close 11 NI Branches
Ulster Bank has confirmed it plans to close 11 branches next year in Northern Ireland. The bank confirmed it will be seeking 40 voluntary redundancies as a result of the closures. The branches to close are: Ballyclare, Dromore, Moira, Draperstown, Dungiven, Portrush, Killyleagh, Rathfriland, Castlederg, Irvinestown and Stewartstown.

The Ulster Bank has announced that it will close a further 10 branches across NI between February and November 2024. The branches marked for closure include Lisnaskea, Ballynahinch, Crumlin, Downpatrick, Glengormley, Lurgan, Waterside in L'Derry and three branches in Belfast - Ormeau Road, University Road and Kings Road.
