Beveridge Engineering unveil new Coleraine premises

Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Enterprise Trade and Investment, has officially opened the new 18,000 sq ft premises of LEDU client company R. Beveridge Engineering Ltd. in Coleraine.

Based at Wattstown Business Park on the outskirts of the town, R. Beveridge Engineering specialises in the manufacture of virtually any product for the steel industry as well as machine installation and general and electrical engineering services to the production industry and the industrial and commercial sector.

The company services customers throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland and has quadrupled its workforce to 28 full time staff.

Speaking at the official opening, Sir Reg said: “Recent studies indicate that LEDU client companies involved in manufacturing have growth rates three times that of the Northern Ireland average and have outperformed counterparts in the Republic of Ireland. Furthermore, it is the small business engineering sector that has largely driven this growth, the only sector in which Northern Ireland firms outperformed the UK average.”

The company has also received an Investors in People award. Presenting the award, Steven Chambers, SGC Services, Coleraine said: “Beveridge Engineering is a vibrant company with vision and a motivated workforce, dedicated to providing a quality service to its clients. Through its effective learning culture the company is committed to developing its entire staff to meet not only today’s business challenges but also the important ones of tomorrow.

“Using Investors in People as a business tool to effectively plan for its future, Beveridge Engineering can continue to evaluate its performance and that of its people in order to improve their collective performance and the essential development, which underpins a successful business.” (MB)
