US Court To Rule On Boston College Interviews
A United States Court will be asked later today to rule that interviews with former terrorists should not be handed over to the PSNI.
Last year Northern Ireland authorities started a legal bid to gain access to interviews carried out by Boston College with former republican and loyalist terrorists.
Detectives want the interviews to help aid them while investigating cases of people murdered by the IRA and then secretly buried.
The college have already handed over interviews with former IRA member Brendan Hughes after he died in 2008. A documentary which followed Hughes death led to the call for more of these interviews to be released.
The PSNI have particular focus on solving the murder of mother of ten and one of the so-called "disappeared", Jean McConville, who is claimed to have been murdered by the IRA in 1972.
They want to hear the interview relating to the abduction and murder of Mrs McConville.
