Pet Dog Killed In Crossbow Attack
Police believe that a crossbow was used to kill a pet dog in Omagh at the weekend in an attack that has been branded as "despicable" and "horrific".
An investigation was launched after the animal’s body was discovered in the Bracken Vale area of Omagh around 11.30am on Saturday morning; a crossbow bolt was removed from the scene.
The dog’s body has been taken for further investigation and a door-to-door inquiry has been launched with the hope of locating the owner of the weapon.
A crossbow bolt would have meant a long and painful death for the animal and the USPCA have said they have saw similar attacks of other wildlife such as swans but never a domestic or family pet.
Police officers are investigating the attack and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

USPCA calls on Assembly to consider crossbow regulation
The USPCA has called on the Assembly to take action on the issue of crossbows following what the animal welfare organisation described as an "appalling" attack on a horse. The Clydesdale horse was found with a metal bolt lodged in its jaw, having been grazing on the Creggan estate when it was attacked.

Investigation Launched After Man Fires Crossbow At Van In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation after a masked man fired a crossbow at a van in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim. The attack happened in the forecourt of a petrol station at Prince Andrew Way on Tuesday, 09 August. Two men who were in the van at the time escaped injury.

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack On Baptist Church
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a Baptist Church in Co Down. Tyres were put up against the side of the building on the Loughbrickland Road in Rathfriland and set alight between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 18 May. Damaged was caused to the side of the church and windows.

Police Rescue Dog In Co Armagh
Police have reunited a dog with his owners after they rescued him in Co Armagh. Flufie was rescued from a ditch in the area and took him to the vet. He injured one of his back legs and the vet has put him on a drip. Flufie was microchipped, however his details were not updated. The owner was located and reunited with Flufie.
