Man’s body found in Malone Road area

The body of a man found murdered in the Malone Road area of south Belfast has been identified as that of Kenneth Oslon, from Lower Windsor Avenue.

Mr Oslon’s body was found in an entry behind houses in Eglantine Avenue just after 10pm on Saturday 4 August. The 43-year-old appeared to have suffered severe head injuries as a result of being beaten, and a post mortem examination is being carried out on the body to establish the exact cause of death.

It is thought the murder may be related to an argument in the alley that one neighbour reported hearing on the night of Friday 3 August. He also said that he had seen a body lying in the entry at around 6am on Saturday morning, but failed to report it, believing it to be someone sleeping on the ground.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the attack, or anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to contact them at Musgrave Street or ring the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111. (CL)
