Red Box Media Attracts 170m US Viewers

Belfast-based Red Box Media has produced a live show and inserts for the band Irish Rovers attracting over 170 million viewers in the US and Canada for the production.

The programme produced for the Irish Rovers called 'At Home in Ireland' went on sale in the states as a video and was recorded at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall last Autumn.

"We got inserts along the North Antrim Coast including aerial shots of the band at the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Slemish Mountain", said Liam Creagh of Red Box Media.

"The show was funded by the band itself. We had choppers, steadicam, a jib and seven cameras. We also had crews of up to 28 people. It was great fun and I have to say is a great advert for Northern Ireland. The tourist Board would be very proud.

"We made the show while still working on Football Boots to Dancing Shoes, the story of the making of the George Best Musical, so we were extremely busy last year."

Director Steve Hanly is working on a second and third show for the Irish Rovers, this time in Canada and New York. Next year the band intend coming back to Ireland for another show as part of a deal for four shows for PBS.

At the moment the rest of Red Box media are working on Titanic Born in Belfast, which will be shown on UTV and several TV stations around the world as well as on DVD.
