Intel Staff Face US Transfer
Hundreds of staff at the Intel Ireland plant in Co. Kildare may be asked to transfer to the US.
The move comes after the multi-national company decided to move production of its next generation computer chip to America.
The Sunday Business Post reports that up to 300 staff could leave the Leixlip facility for the US.
It comes as the company moves to scale back production due to uncertain global demand.

S&A Foods Announces 300 Job Losses
S&A Foods in Derby has announced 300 job losses and the firm has also gone into administration. Unite the union which represents around 200 hourly paid production staff, said that cash flow problems relating to the firms' contract with supermarket giant, Asda was the root cause for the closure.

40 New Jobs As CDE Expand Into New Premises
Cookstown quarry equipment manufacturer CDE is to create 40 jobs as a result of a £5.4 million expandsion supported by Invest Northern Ireland. The firm is to construct a major extension to its existing manufacturing capability, at their global head office in County Tyrone.

LDV Job Fears As Company Enters Administration
Struggling UK-based van maker LDV is to apply for administration, leading to fears hundreds of workers will lose their jobs. Production halted at the Birmingham-based plant in mid-December, and most of the company's 850 production staff were sent home on a deal which allowed them full pay for one month.
