Two crash victims still in critical condition
Two people remain critically ill and another is described as being in a stable condition in hospital after a fatal weekend road accident in County Antrim.
The crash on Sunday morning claimed the lives of three people: Clements Parkinson, 34, from Forthill Gardens, Ballyduff and Agnes Wilson, 31, and her brother Alan Walker, 33, both from Mallusk Road, Newtownabbey.
The three victims were in a Rover car, which was in collision with a Toyota MR2 near Templepatrick around 1.30am on Sunday August 19.
The two, who are still critical, were travelling in the Toyota car, which the police said had driven the wrong way around a roundabout, shortly before the accident.
The male driver of the sports car has undergone surgery at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.
During the incident the RUC came under attack from a crowd which had gathered at the scene. Two officers were subsequently injured in the trouble. The Northern Ireland Fire Brigade said that the incident involving the crowd had made it difficult for fire fighters to release the crash victims trapped in their vehicles.
In a separate road accident, a 15-year-old boy who was driving a relative’s car was killed in a crash in Dundonald in east Belfast shortly after 3.30am on Sunday.
