Local transport company drives up growth
Local transport company, Nextday (NI) Ltd, based in Belfast, is predicting major growth due to its association with the UK’s number one and fastest growing national distribution network Palletways.
Nextday, one of 71 elite transport companies in the UK, was appointed in 1995 as a member of the Palletways network, which offers next day, Economy 2 and 3 day and timed delivery options.
Now the company is predicting strong growth after the announcement of new developments to the network.
As part of the new developments, Nextday will be able to offer the fastest ever service in the palletised freight industry. The service, called P120, will enable the company’s customers to place an unprocessed order as late at 4pm for delivery by 10am the next day.
The company will also be able to benefit from Palletways’ new IT system, which will enable their customers to track and trace any individual consignment in the network, providing them with total visibility and control over their deliveries.
Jim Young, general manager at Nextday, said: “Being part of the Palletways network has been a tremendous boost for the company to date. Palletways has helped us increase turnover by 20 per cent since we joined the network.
“We are predicting 15 per cent growth over the next year alone as a result of our membership of the network. We will be in an ideal position to exploit what will become a major business brand in the next few years.”
Palletways was launched in 1994 and provides a distribution solution for small consignments of palletised goods, which traditionally have caused manufacturers of finished products a major headache. Membership of the network includes a stringent Code of Practice to ensure the highest quality standards of service. (MB)
