Tickets Go Free For MTV Outdoor Concert

Belfast City Council is to release free tickets to a huge outdoor concert at the City Hall as part of the MTV EMAs next month.

Northern Ireland's Snow Patrol will appear on stage along with US singer-songwriter Jason Derulo and US rock trio Boyce Avenue, all playing to some 15,000 people on Sunday, November 6th.

For the first time, the awards will be held across three venues, with the third venue to be announced closer to the date.

Tickets for the concert are free and will be available from the Belfast Welcome Centre, Donegall Place, from this Sunday, October 16 at 8am.

Councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile said: "This event is just getting bigger and bigger and the excitement is really starting to build; there's a real buzz around the city.

"I'm delighted that City Hall has been chosen as one of the stages for the MTV EMA event. It's the city's most iconic building and with 600 million people around the world tuning in to watch, what a great opportunity this will be to showcase Belfast and all that it has to offer," he said, adding that additional funding given by Belfast City Council and the NI Tourist Board has made this event possible.

Due to the global nature of the awards event at the Odyssey Arena, demand for tickets is exceptionally high and so the additional show at City Hall was our way of ensuring that as many people as possible can be part of this once in a lifetime event.
