IT Jobs Set To Boost Salaries
New employment opportunities - and good salaries - are to be created following an announcement this week by the Stormont Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster.
Kainos, the IT solutions company, is to create 82 high quality jobs in an expansion of its Belfast operation and Invest Northern Ireland has offered £984,000 of support for the new posts, which include key software engineering, project management and sales roles.
Announcing the new jobs the Minister said: "Kainos is one of Northern Ireland's largest locally owned, high-tech companies and this expansion reflects its ongoing success.
"These new jobs will pay salaries well above the Northern Ireland private sector average, delivering more than £3m annually into the local economy.
"Invest NI has identified the IT sector as a key driver for economic growth and is keen to secure this kind of high quality investment for Northern Ireland.
"Kainos considered placing these new jobs in other offices, however the announcement underlines the competitiveness of Northern Ireland as a location for investment."
Brendan Mooney, Managing Director of Kainos, (pictured here with the Minister) said: "We have ambitious growth plans across our industry sectors and key to this is being able to recruit the very best people. We are delighted with Invest Northern Ireland's support for our expansion plans here in Belfast."
Kainos specialises in the deployment and integration of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Electronic Document Management (EDM), Workflow and Collaborative technologies.
Global and local organisations which use Kainos' solutions and services include the NSPCC, Home Office, Department for Transport, Aon, Aviva, eircom, and the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.
Kainos currently employs 180 people in Belfast and delivers IT solutions to a range of industries including healthcare, financial services and the public sector. The company also has three additional offices based globally.
