Campaign aims to raise profile of Children’s Commissioner
Posters recently put up throughout Northern Ireland aim to raise public awareness about the consultation process to determine the role and responsibilities of a Children's Commissioner in Northern Ireland.
The posters form part of a publicity campaign to generate the maximum public response to the consultation document, entitled ‘Protecting Children's Rights - A Consultation paper on a Children's Commissioner for Northern Ireland’ that is due to be officially launched later this week.
Amongst other tasks, the Children's Commissioner will promote and protect children's rights, and ensure that the concerns of young people are translated into policy-making, priority setting and sustained resource allocation.
Details are being finalised in the run up to a high profile launch of the consultation document on September 6. (CD)
