Good Vibrations Punks' Snowy Finalé
As the cameras roll on a movie focusing on Ulster music legend Terri Hooley, Good Vibrations can be felt across Belfast city.
Set in Belfast, in the late 70s/early 80s, when The Troubles brought the city to its knees, the film follows Hooley's dream to open a record shop on one of the most bombed half-miles in Europe and call it Good Vibrations.
Last weekend, a remake of a famous 80s Belfast punk show took place in the Ulster Hall, drawing in hundreds of 80s styled punks from across Ireland.
On Bedford Street, where an old Army Saracen was parked up, a mile-long line of punks queued happily for a chance to play their part and soak in the 80s good vibes.
Filming didn't disappoint as the crowd reacted with punk vigour during the dramatisation of The Outcast's 80s set. Anarchy was alive and well and the punks were definitely not dead.
Husband and wife directing duo Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Leyburn (Cherrybomb) thanked everyone who came along and helped make the gig so great.
As a big thank you to the 'Alternative Ulster' crowd, Snow Patrol took to the stage for a special acoustic set.
To rapturous home coming applause they introduced the audience to new release Called out in the dark and pleased the crowd with classics including: Run; Spitting games; Chocolate; You're all I have; Hands open; Shut your eyes; Open your eyes; and the spine-tingling Chasing cars finale.
Shooting continues on Good Vibrations for the next few weeks before heading south to the Irish Republic.
The film stars Richard Dormer in the leading role (Five Minutes of Heaven), Jodie Whittaker (One Day), Liam Cunningham (Hunger), Dylan Moran (A Cock and Bull Story) and Adrian Dunbar (The Crying Game).
The film also embraces the work of script writers Colin Carberry and Glenn Patterson, producers Andrew Eaton (The Trip) and Chris Martin (Peacefire) and powerhouse DJ David Holmes (Ocean's 11) will compose the score.
