Injury hit Northern Ireland prepare to battle Danes
Northern Ireland captain Jim Magilton is set to lead his country out in front of the imposing Parken Stadium in Copenhagen against Denmark on Saturday night.
Magilton is back after missing the last two internationals through injury, however midfield partner Neil Lennon has had to pull out after picking up a groin strain during the Scottish Premier League game at Hibernian last Saturday.
Northern Ireland are also missing Mark Williams, Ian Nolan and Pat McGibbon through injury, however Manchester City’s Kevin Horlock has been called up to join the side.
Injury worries have become something of a noticeable trend for manager Sammy McIlroy who was without 10 of his established internationals due to suspensions and injuries for the last World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland’s players will be confined to the team hotel after Saturday's match to avoid any repeat of the Prague debacle, when goalkeeping coach Tommy Wright and four players were detained by Prague police over an alleged fracas in a nightclub following the team match against the Czech Republic in June.
