Antrim Firm Wins Titanic Fit-out
The contract for the fit-out of the interior Exhibition and Gallery at Titanic Belfast - which is set to open in April next year - has been awarded.
Antrim-based Marcon Fit-Out has been awarded the job and will provide design development, manufacture and installation of the joinery exhibition structures and displays throughout Titanic Belfast's nine galleries, each representing a unique part of the Titanic story.
Having grown steadily over the last number of years, Marcon employs 26 people having created additional employment through business gained in Northern Ireland and through expansion across the UK market.
Commenting on the Titanic Project, Mark O'Connor, Director Marcon Fit-out said: "We are very much looking forward to being involved in the development of one of the most exciting and eagerly awaited buildings in Northern Ireland's history.
"It truly is an outstanding piece of architecture and it is vital that its interior reflects the building's undoubted presence. We believe that it is a very positive reflection on the standard and quality of our work that Harcourt Construction has awarded us this prestigious contract."
Throughout the development the company have said they will be using state-of-the-art technology and innovative design interpretation, to help portray the vivid and engaging journey of the Titanic story across the attraction's nine galleries.
Martin Conway, Commercial Manager of builders, Harcourt Construction (NI) Ltd commented: "Titanic Belfast is an ambitious and challenging project and requires expertise within every area of construction.
"With their experience of interior fit-outs across a wide variety of projects, Marcon has the necessary skills to deliver a first class level of service which will be in keeping with the stature of Northern Ireland's largest ever tourism project."
The building is a dynamic symbol of the regeneration of Belfast and is set to become a major tourism and cultural attraction celebrating the city's maritime heritage. Titanic Belfast anticipates around 400,000 visitors annually.

Executive backs lottery application for Titanic project
Tourism Minister Nigel Dodds announced support for an application to the Big Lottery Fund for £25 million towards the £90 million Titanic Signature Project. Today’s announcement followed yesterday’s Northern Ireland Executive meeting, where agreement was given to proceed with the application.

Lifeline Thrown To Sinking Titanic
It would be a real disaster if the Titanic were to 'sink again'. That's the reason Belfast City Council is set to investing £10m of ratepayers' money to co-fund a Titanic tourist attraction. The aim is to ensure the £90m Titanic Signature Project will be built by 2012 - after it struggled to secure the final funding needed.

A ban on the sale and supply of single-use vapes will come into effect in Northern Ireland on 1 June 2025. Agriculture Minister Andrew Muir announced the decision, aligning with similar bans in Scotland, Wales, and England.
