Local businesses in first ever trade mission to Iceland
Senior managers from 13 companies will be seeking to develop business in Iceland on the first ever trade mission to this market organised by Trade International Northern Ireland.
The mission, which takes place from September 10-12, will explore co-operation in areas such as trade, joint ventures, product supplies and technology transfer at a series of meetings.
Alan Hingston, Executive Director of Trade International, said: "We organised this mission, our first to Iceland, following requests from a number of Northern Ireland companies which had identified business opportunities in this small but affluent market.
“We endeavour to respond to requests from companies for missions to specific markets and our annual mission programme is based on our consultations with Northern Ireland business bodies and companies.”
Mr Hingston revealed that companies such as FG Wilson (Engineering) and Bridgedale Outdoor, who are already well established in Iceland, were keen to expand sales in this market.
He added that the mission would enable local companies to explore and make contacts with local business people in Iceland. (MB)
