Conservatories 'Powered Up' With Kingspan
Lurgan-based company, the BDG Group, a designer and supplier of Orangeries, conservatories, sun verandas, windows and bio-fold doors, has recently partnered with Kingspan Renewables to offer the 'first ever' solar-powered hot water system that can be fitted to a glazed roof on a conservatory.
Ben Robinson, Managing Director, BDG, commented: "In these tough economic times, we recognise that home owners are cautious about committing to moving house therefore home improvement plans are on the rise.
"With increasing home fuel prices, people are looking at ways to reduce home utility costs across the board therefore there is a real synergy in marrying our roofing systems with renewable technology.
"Our partnership with Kingspan Renewables is a 'first of its kind' in terms of our product offering i.e. the offering of a solar system that can be fitted to a conservatory roof."
Kingspan Renewables, located in Portadown, Co Armagh, is said to have revolutionised the world of solar thermal technology with its award winning product, Varisol, launched in 2010.
Thanks to its unique features and using high performance polymer materials, Varisol, is the world's first completely modular vacuum tube solar collector that can be fitted to suit any roof size.
The Atlas conservatory roof and the Varisol system combined, provide a new offering for customers where Varisol is installed on a specially designed docking structure, on conservatory roofs.
Existing BDG customers can also benefit from the system by retro fitting their roofs.
